Born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jim came to Atlanta to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he played varsity football for four years and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management.
The first four years of his business career was spent in the insurance industry with Moye Financial Associates. He started his Wall Street career at Merrill Lynch in 1981. Jim has had an extensive career of money management at Bear Stearns, Shearson Lehman Brothers, and Robinson-Humphrey Co., with his last nineteen years being spent at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia before joining Southport Capital Risk Management.
Jim and his wife Terri are now empty nesters in Marietta, Georgia, having successfully raised an attorney and two USMC officers.
Paul DiPalma, CIS™
Paul has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, starting with humble beginnings as an intern during his college years. He graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Business Administration. As both a Certified Income Specialist™ as well as a National Social Security Advisor Certificate Holder, Paul is meticulous in plan design for his clients. He specializes in addressing pre-retiree and post-retiree needs, helping them adjust to any life changes that affect their financial goals. Paul prides himself acting in a fiduciary capacity for his clients, ensuring their needs as well as desires are recognized and a prudent solution is implemented. Paul believes that financial freedom is available to those who learn about it and work for it.
As a resident of southwest Florida, Paul is a member of the Young Leaders Alliance, forming personal and professional relationships while building leadership skills. He is active in serving his local community with involvement in such organizations as Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, All Faiths Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity. Paul spends his free time with nature. He enjoys doing everything from taking his dog Champ to the beach to hiking mountains at a national park.
Lynne Witmer, CIS
Lynne brings nearly two decades of experience in the Financial Services industry to the team. She was born and raised in State College, Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University. She began her career with PNC Financial working for PNC Bank, then achieving her life insurance and brokerage licenses prior to transitioning to PNC Financial. Lynne also worked with TransAmerica, where she traveled throughout the Northeast training Financial Advisers and Insurance Agents on mutual funds and annuities.
Lynne enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her Maltese Lucy. She also enjoys cooking, reading, and football; especially the Nittany Lions of Penn State!
Michael Lange, LUTCF
Michael Lange has been a financial advisor for 34 years. He is dedicated to providing value-based, comprehensive financial advice and using asset management programs that help ensure that his clients reach their retirement with less worry and stress. Michael is a leader in pre- and post-retirement planning and specializes in protecting 401(k) and IRA assets from stock market losses, securing lifetime income that you cannot outlive, developing and managing tax-free income programs, and using living trusts and other estate planning techniques to avoid probate.
Michael’s warm personality, gift for helping others, and ability to explain difficult concepts in layman’s terms have helped him build strong, long-lasting relationships with his clients. Ryan Adams is certified with National Social Security AdvisorsSM and focuses on retirement income planning. Ryan does not hold dinner seminars and he avoids the typical fanfare in his industry. He is simple and down to earth, yet thorough in his process.
Ryan holds a current educator license in Tennessee and Georgia and strives to educate workshop attendees and clients on retirement planning, including Social Security, retirement accounts, and Medicare. As an educator his goal is to help you understand your options and make decisions accordingly. He does not try to impress with industry jargon and works in a no pressure environment.
Ryan and his wife, Liz, homestead north of Chattanooga with their six children. They feel it is important to teach their children farming skills that are rapidly disappearing in their generation. Ryan’s farming passion is poultry. He raises several varieties of chickens, ducks, and turkeys on the farm. Each one of the kids have their favorites too.
Britt has been serving clients in the Mount Airy area since the early 2000’s. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Prior to joining Southport Capital Risk Management, Britt was a Financial Advisor with Bank of America Investments and Edward Jones. Britt and his wife Kristie have three children and a grandson.
Outside of work Britt has coached various girls basketball teams but now enjoys attending his daughter’s high school basketball games.
Jack E. Viveros has been in business for over 20 years. His expertise as an advisor to his clients has provided them with the tools necessary to both increase and protect their savings & investments.
Jack’s knowledge and guidance spearheads his clients’ many diverse aspirations into concrete and sustained positive economic futures for them.
He is a registered representative, certified in federal employees’ retirement plans as well as qualified, retirement programs for small businesses, and is a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table organization.
He specializes in sharing with his clients the building blocks available especially for their retirement objectives as well as insurance needs. His clients represent a diverse background including Hispanic business owners. Jack’s foremost mission is to be of service Io folks who expect safety as well as growth for their savings and investments.
Paul has over 14 years experience in the financial services industry, with a broad background in mortgage lending, consumer credit, insurance, and investing. As a Series 65 licensed Financial Advisor and fiduciary, Paul specializes in retirement planning. His focus is on educating clients about their choices and helping them plan for a secure financial future. Paul is a graduate of Kent State University and is the proud father of three teenage daughters. When he is not working, he enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
